Hi, my name is Natalie Rusiuk and welcome to United Fitness!

I have been teaching group exercise to adults since 2007. This came about as I wanted to share my love of dance with adults rather than pursue a career in teaching dance to children which would have followed my mothers foot steps. A local gym encouraged me to take my group exercise fitness qualification and it was the best decision I made. I am proud to offer classes that are enjoyable, effective and suitable for adults of all ages and fitness abilities.

I have met some women who have never danced before but found themselves enjoying classical Ballet steps and enchainements (sequences) which far exceeded their own expectations. It is so wonderful to watch a full room of smiling participants as they master a new Ballet step, Zumba routine or Pilates plank exercise. Your possibilities are endless and I hope you will join me in allowing me the pleasure to teach you.

My professional work experience

My career first started after graduating from Preston Dance College in 2002; when I went on to pursue a career as a professional dancer. I spent a couple of years working as a Resident Entertainer for a well known UK holiday company and then the following 4 years onboard Carnival Cruise Lines as a dancer in their Las Vegas style revue shows.

I enjoyed teaching the adults onboard the ship and had fun with various Line Dance classes and aerobics and so upon returning home to Morecambe in 2007 I set up my own dance and fitness class teaching adults in my community, as well as working as a Freelance Instructor at gyms around my local area . My community class became a success and I still teach most of the same class members today!

My Qualifications:

In 2007 I passed my CYMCA Exercise to Music qualification, which allows me to teach aerobic / fitness based exercise classes.

I embarked on my training to become a Pilates instructor in 2014 after wanting to be a Pilates teacher for many years. I passed my course which means I now hold my Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork (QCF) which allows me entrance to the Register of Exercise Professionals as a Level 3 instructor.

I am very serious about my role as a Pilates instructor and have made it my mission to do as much training as I can to provide the best and most up-to-date information for my participants. With this goal in mind, I completed the 2 day Back Conditions CPD course with Modern Pilates (March 28th-29th 2015) and I attended the Blackpool Fitness Showcase (March 20th-22nd 2016) where I attended various Pilates lectures (Back Pain, Spinal Segmental Control) and a series of different classes to further increase my knowledge.

As I have mentioned above, I completed my professional dance teacher and performers training from which I achieved my ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) in Associate Ballet, Modern and National and my RAD STC ( Royal Academy of Dance Student Teaching Certificate) in Ballet and my Professional Performer and Teacher of Dance Diploma.

My additional fitness qualifications include achieving distinctions in both my BTS Body Step and Body Attack trainings and in 2010 I became a Licensed Zumba Fitness instructor. I completed my Unite training (Yoga, Pilates fusion class) and Metafit training (HIIT workout) earlier in 2014. Most recently I added PiYo to my list of teaching qualifications. As I am dedicated to my role as an exercise instructor I comply with health and safety and hold my Level 2 First Aid Certificate and Public Liabilty Insurance and reguarly update my CPD (Continued Professional Development) so you can be assured of a safe, well structured and up-to-date exercise class.

In 2011 I became a Herbalife Wellness Coach and Independent Distributor and continue to use their products daily to help me to manage my own weight and to support my active lifestyle. I have helped many people lose weight and achieve their fitness and wellness goals. So, if weight loss and / or nutrition are one of your goals, I have the skills and tools to help you achieve them, once and for all! Free no obligation Wellness Checks are part of my service.

In 2012 I completed my BTEC Extended Diploma in Sports and Exercise Science ( Sports Therapy) and passed with a Distinction Profile, which allowed me entrance onto the Federation of Holistic Therapists and I now offer body massage as a service. This course has helped me to further understand the mechanics of our bodies and I truely believe that my classes offer a safe and effective way to train and get fit in a fun and encouraging environment.

If you love group exercise then I am sure you will find a class that suits you. Please take a look at my current timetable for a full list of my classes, from the Latin-inspired dance fitness class, Zumba Fitness to the wonderful, mind and body experience of Pilates. There really is something for everyone!

I fully intend on continuing my instructor experience by adding more trainings to my list and attending courses regularly so that I continue to provide safe, educational and enjoyable classes. I recently passed two CPD courses in teaching exercise to post-natal and pre-natal women and I hope to launch NEW classes for the pregnant client and new mummies and their babies in the NEW YEAR! Please enjoy looking around my site and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
